My dream is to help you create bold and meaningful work that enriches your life and the lives of others.
Service can seem like a lofty idea. It conjures up thoughts of heroes, saints, and epic sacrifices, but living a life of service simply means to engage in work from your authentic self with the goal of making the world a better place. Somewhere in each of us, we yearn to do this kind of work. We yearn to experience more than just the fruit of our labor, but also the joy of creation.
My entire career has focused on helping people reach their work goals. I have worked for the top executive recruiting firms and continue to counsel senior leaders daily as they make significant career decisions. At every life stage – from just starting out, to choosing non-paid work such as care-giving or passion projects, to navigating a corporate career or pursuing an entrepreneurial endeavor – the goal to discover the truest expression of ourselves remains the same.
My intention with this blog and the work of my life is to help you do that. My hope is to build a community that wants more from work than just a paycheck or a title. I want to enhance how you view the role of work in your spiritual life. The goal is for you to consciously choose what is worth giving your precious labor. You can learn more about me and my work journey here.
If you’re feeling called to a fuller work experience, start the journey by signing up for my seasonal newsletter. The newsletter provides a lens for the quarterly assessment of your work life. Each issue will center on a key topic to anchor your attention and reflect on throughout the season. You’ll also find useful book/podcast suggestions, tips, and tools appropriate for the time of year.
You can find my book WORKING WHOLE: How to Unite Your Spiritual Beliefs and Your Work to Live Fulfilled on all major online book retailers.
Next, visit the blog every Monday for a short post meant to help you set a specific intention for your workweek.
You can also contact me directly with comments and questions, and I’d be happy to engage with you on social media!
Simply Service was launched in 2013 with a broad focus to include the philanthropic, volunteer, and relational aspects of service. After much evolution, the blog was relaunched in 2018 centering specifically on the career and work life aspects of service. Content from previous years has been archived under the category “Older Content.” This was the most popular post from that time: 100 ways to love on the world.
